Dr. Gregory S. Vance Dr. Gregory S. Vance is a native of Pike County, Kentucky, and graduated in 1995 from Pikeville College with a B.S. in both Chemistry and Biology. He then attended dental school at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in May of 2000. He continued his training at Louisville, where he completed his 3-year residency in periodontics and received both a Certificate is Periodontics and a Master's of Science degree in Periodontics. His extensive research focus was bone grafting and he wrote his thesis on this topic.
Dr. Vance is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, meaning he is a board-certified periodontist. Less than 50% of practicing periodontists are currently board certified. This means that he has taken written, oral, and clinical tests that attest that he has attained the highest level of distinguishment that a periodontist can receive. You can be assured that when you are being treated by a board-certified periodontist, you are being treated by someone who is proven to be an expert in their field, whether it be treating periodontal disease, treating gum recession, regenerating lost bone, or placing dental implants.

Dr. Eric S. Browning Dr. Eric S. Browning, a native of Harlan, Kentucky, graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2000 with a B.S. in biology and a minor in history. Eric continued his education at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, graduating with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in May of 2004. Due to the outstanding reputation of the periodontics residency program at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Dr. Browning chose to leave Kentucky to pursue this stellar opportunity.
Several of the faculty who Dr. Browning was mentored by are world renowned in their field. While Dr. Browning was at San Antonio, his program director was named "Most Outstanding Periodontal Educator of the Year." Another of his mentors authored a comprehensive book on periodontics that is used in many of the dental schools today. Lastly, a third mentor of Dr. Browning serves as Chairman of the American Board of Periodontology. Along with Dr. Vance, Dr. Browning is also a published author. The publications are entitled:

Dr. Paul Armstrong Dr. Paul J. Armstrong, originally from Middlesboro, graduated from college in 1959 attending Transylvania University. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Louisville in 1967. His periodontics training was done at Ohio State University. Dr. Armstrong spent many years as a clinical researcher for various dental implant companies. He was among the first in the state of Kentucky to ever place a dental implant.
